Takehiko Nakafuji

Born in 1970 in Tokyo, Takehiko Nakafuji dropped out from his studies in Literature at Waseda University in order to obtain a degree in Photography from Tokyo Visual Arts, where he was a student of Daido Moriyama. He has produced several monochrome photography books from travels in Japan, Eastern Europe, Russia and Cuba. This exhibition is drawn from two of these books, Enter the Mirror, published in 1997, and the very recent Sakuan, Matapaan: Hokkaido, for which he was awarded the Special Photographer Award at the Higashikawa International Photography Festival in August 2013. He is the owner of Gallery Niepce in Yotsuya, Tokyo.
